Remote Patient Monitoring (RPM) and Sleep Apnea

Overview

RPM 210 - Sleep apnea is a common chronic illness that can be managed properly with remote patient monitoring (RPM). Learn how to educate the patient about this illness, help with medication adherence, and communicate with the healthcare team. This course will teach you to use an RPM disease management program to help patients avoid critical danger zones.

Trainees will be able to work with clients who have sleep apnea and use RPM. At the end of the badge, trainees will be able to do the following:  

  1. Define sleep apnea
  2. Explain the basic diagnosis/symptoms of sleep apnea  
  3. Explain how sleep apnea is a serious chronic illness but one that can be maintained with monitoring  
  4. Evaluate a health chart of a patient with sleep apnea  
  5. Be able to enter data into RPM for monitoring a patient with sleep apnea (with DMP)  
  6. Evaluate DMP data of a patient with sleep apnea (at critical junctions)
