Tobacco Cessation

Overview

RPM 246 - You will be able to define the importance of tobacco cessation, the long-term effects of tobacco use, and the process of cessation.  Monitoring with RPM is a vital part of supporting the cessation process.

  1. Define tobacco cessation
  2. Explain the effects of long-term use of tobacco
  3. Categorize the various symptoms of tobacco use
  4. Keep track of the patient’s symptoms
  5. Evaluate medications for tobacco cessation
  6. Provide education and resources to patients
  7. Using RPM, monitor health vitals and document subjective data
  8. Follow up and report Disease Management Program on RPM devices
