Weight Management
Overview
RPM 226 - Patients needing weight management can be properly assisted with remote patient monitoring (RPM). In this course, learn the steps needed to assist a patient with an RPM scale. Learn how to educate the patient about self-monitoring for weight management and healthy lifestyles and how to monitor weight loss/gain with a digital scale that has targeted critical zones for communication with the health team.
Trainees will be able to work with clients who have Weight Management needs and use RPM for monitoring. At the end of the badge, trainees will be able to do the following:
- Define Weight Management
- Explain the basic diagnosis/symptoms of someone with Weight Management needs
- Evaluate the Weight management for three different types of patients
- Be able to monitor a patient with Weight Management needs
- Be able to educate a patient about their Weight Management
- Evaluate a health chart of a patient with Weight Management needs
- Be able to enter data into RPM for monitoring a patient with Weight Management (with DMP)
- Evaluate DMP data of a patient with Weight Management (at critical junctions)
