Wound Care
Overview
RPM 224 - Patients needing wound care can be properly managed with remote patient monitoring. In this course, you will be able to define the patient’s needs for wound care, learn the steps needed to prevent wound infection and monitor the patient to promote healing. You will also learn how to educate the patient about caring for wounds and will be able to use a software program to help patients avoid critical danger zones.
Trainees will be able to work with clients who have Wound Care needs and use RPM for monitoring. At the end of the badge, trainees will be able to do the following:
- Define needs for Wound Care
- List common steps for Wound Care
- Be able to monitor a patient with Wound Care needs
- Be able to educate a patient about their Wound Care
- Evaluate a health chart of a patient with Wound Care needs
- Be able to enter data into RPM for monitoring a patient with Wound Care (with DMP)
- Evaluate DMP data of a patient with Wound Care (at critical junctions)
